China denuncia hostilidade após rumores sobre fabricação do Covid-19

Beijing, 20 fev (Prensa Latina) China denunciou hoje os fins hostis por trás de matérias jornalísticas internacionais de imprensa e rumores sobre a suposta fabricação do coronavírus Covid-19 e de armas biológicas em seu Laboratório Nacional de Biossegurança, localizado em Wuhan.
Geng Shuang, porta-voz do Ministério de Relações Exteriores, disse a jornalistas que se trata de informações absurdas, malintencionadas e carregadas de ignorância que foram preparadas por meios e indivíduos para causar também sensacionalismo, enquanto seu Governo combate a epidemia e procura proteger a saúde pública interna e global.

‘O que precisamos é a ciência, a racionalidade e a cooperação para derrotar as falácias com a verdade, contra-atacar ao preconceito com cooperação’, dimensionou.

Geng recordou que a Organização Mundial da Saúde negou a existência de evidências sobre essas acusações e citou uma carta aberta da revista The Lancet que nega teorias de conspiração sobre a origem do vírus e o laboratório, o primeiro de Ásia de maior nível.

Esse centro é um dos poucos existentes no mundo capaz de estudar os patogênicos do HIV, Ebola e H1N1, e pertence ao Instituto de Virologia de Wuhan, o qual também emitiu comunicados em rejeição às calúnias sobre a suposta fabricação do Covid-19, sua fuga e até a infecção do primeiro paciente entre seus cientistas.

Muitas vozes denunciam que se trata de uma estratégia de forças externas orientada a fomentar a campanha anti-China e influenciar de maneira negativa à opinião pública.

Por outro lado, o porta-voz da Chancelaria defendeu a decisão de revogar as credenciais de trabalho a três correspondentes do jornal estadunidense The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) por divulgar um artigo depreciativo e racista contra seu país.

Geng refutou as declarações do secretário norte-americano de Estado, Mike Pompeo, sobre a restrição de liberdade de expressão com essa medida e assegurou que o diário demonstrou falta de ética profissional e ignorou feitos com sua publicação.

Não obstante, precisou que Beijing maneja as questões vinculadas a jornalistas estrangeiros com apego à lei, mas não permite ofensas, insultos nem ingerência maliciosa.

Assim, Geng advertiu que seu Governo se reserva o direito de proceder com futuras medidas, ao exigir um tratamento sério a suas preocupações.

Segundo explicou, o jornal não se desculpou nem pesquisou os responsáveis pelo material intitulado ‘China, o verdadeiro doente da Ásia’ publicado no passado dia 3 e que causou indignação dentro e fora do país.

Tal expressão utilizou-se de forma despetiva no final do século XIX e princípios do XX para referir ao gigante asiático, enquanto sofria divisões internas e tentativas de colonização das potências ocidentais, que a obrigaram a assinar uma série de tratados para obter concessões comerciais.
