É hora das mulheres negras

Nos Estados Unidos, falta pouco para ver ascender à presidência da República uma mulher negra. São muitas as negras que hoje circulam no poder político. Exemplo é a parlamentar do estado do Arkansas Joyce Elliott, que buscará uma vaga no Congresso em novembro. Tem tudo parta ser a primeira deputada negra de seu estado em Washington, uma região de racismo explícito. Ela acha que essa eleição poderá mudar a história, neste momento em que o novo coronavírus mata negros desproporcionalmente nos EUA. A combinação de vírus com violência policial está levando um número recorde de mulheres negras a concorrer ao Congresso.

São 122 mulheres negras ou multirraciais disputando as cadeiras no Legislativo federal ombro a ombro com candidatos brancos. Um número bem maior do que o registrado em 2012. Naquela época 48 negras concorreram enfrentando ameaças e o temor. Joyce disse que as pessoas estão ficando mais acostumadas a ver tipos diferentes de pessoas no Congresso. A veterana da Marinha americana Pam Keyth, que também é advogada disse para a imprensa que: “Você não sabe como é ter mulheres negras poderosas no Congresso até ver essas mulheres”, ela, que também concorre na primária democrata em busca de uma vaga pela Flórida. Nos EUA as negras representam 8 por cento da população. Mas, estão subrepresentadas em vagas executivas em todo o estado, e também entre os prefeitos, segundo uma reportagem republicada pela Agência Brasil esta semana. As eleitoras negras, no entanto, tiveram o maior índice de participação de qualquer grupo nas eleições presidenciais de 2008 e 2012. Várias das oito candidatas negras ao Congresso, com as quais a agência de notícias Reuters disse que conversou e também publicou, disseram que se identificam melhor com os eleitores do que seus oponentes frequentemente mais ricos, porque elas também passaram por adversidades.

No Brasil o número de mulheres é maior que o de homens e as mulheres negras representam um grande percentual. Na Bahia a situação é correlata. Esta semana a vereadora Marta Rodrigues (PT) parabenizou todas as mulheres negras pela passagem do “Dia da Mulher Negra, Latino-Americana e Caribenha” e o “Dia Nacional de Tereza de Benguela”, que foi 25 de julho. Conforme release da vereadora, “essa data reforça a importância dessas mulheres que ainda sofrem com desigualdades, discriminações e sequelas sociais da escravidão”. A vereadora considera a data importante para as mulheres negras, pois as fortalece como cidadãs, reforçando os direitos e lutas. As mulheres negras estão expostas a todos os vieses do racismo: a solidão, a violência policial, ao silencio, ao encarceramento, à exclusão dos espaços de decisão, aos menores salários e à violência doméstica, observa.

O Atlas da Violência de 2019 mostra que 60 por cento das mulheres assassinadas no Brasil eram negras”. A data lembrada pela vfereadora petista foi fruto do encontro de grupos femininos negros, em 1992, de 32 países da América Latina e do Caribe em Santo Domingo, na República Dominicana, para denunciar opressões e debater soluções na luta contra o racismo e o sexismo.

A questão, agora, é saber se neste momento em que o mundo reage contra o racismo, não é tempo bom para mudar muita coisa na política. Mulheres negras sendo indicadas para candidatura às prefeituras e à vereança Brasil afora. E sendo votadas. As mulheres negras estão se agrupando de forma mais realista e pragmática do que em outras eras. Entendo que chegou o momento de ocupação do poder. O Tribunal Superior Eleitoral informa que menos de 5% das cadeiras de vereadores (57 mil), são ocupadas por mulheres negras e pardas no país. Vamos mudar isso. Vamos duplicar a força. Vitaminar a política. Votar diferente para o Brasil vencer.
