Salles diz que normas de proteção revogadas são “inúteis”

 O Ministério do Meio Ambiente segue a todo vapor no desmonte de leis de proteção ambiental.  Dessa vez o ministro Ricardo Salles chancelou um documento enviado ao Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), em que essas resoluções são chamadas de “inúteis”, “ilegais” e “pleonásticas”.

Segundo reportagem do portal UOL, o Ministério alega que a revogação das leis não fará diferença para o meio ambiente.

Segundo especialistas, além de fragilizar a proteção das áreas costeiras, o fim da norma nacional também pode provocar “guerra ambiental” entre os estados e insegurança jurídica. A decisão também poderá abrir margem para especulação imobiliária desenfreada e para a indústria do camarão, o que poderá gerar um grave impacto ambiental.

O Conama (Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente) revogou, na semana passada, normas de proteção a manguezais e restingas. A decisão chegou a ser suspensa pela Justiça Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Mas logo depois o Tribunal Regional Federal da 2ª Região derrubou tal decisão. Então a revogação do Conama voltou a valer.

Mas uma ação do PT (Partido dos Trabalhadores) fez com que o STF entrasse no assunto. A ministra Rosa Weber pediu para o Ministério do Meio Ambiente se manifestar e explicar a decisão do Conama.
