Camaçari: Imetame pretende ampliar unidade para produzir energia elétrica

O grupo capixaba Imetame, deve investir até R$ 285 milhões na ampliação da Usina Imetame Termelétrica, no município de baiano de Camaçari. A unidade que vai produzir energia elétrica, através do gás, pretende manter os 24 empregos diretos e 60 indiretos, além de promover a geração de outros 17 postos de trabalho.

A expansão consiste na instalação de nova unidade UTE Prosperidade II, que tem 37 megawatt (MW) e UTE Prosperidade III de 50MW. Somadas à capacidade instalada atual de 28 MW a termelétrica totaliza 115MW. O protocolo de intenções foi assinado pelo Governo do Estado, por meio da Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Econômico (SDE), na quinta-feira (26).

“No começo de novembro, a Imetame Energia, empresa do grupo, responsável pela operação de toda parte de extração, tratamento e escoamento do gás, assinou protocolo de intenções conosco. A energia será produzida através do gás extraído, no qual é removido do sub-solo por método de elevação, que passa por um processo de tratamento para retirada de líquidos. O gás tratado na superfície é enviado via tubulação para Usina Termelétrica, servindo de insumo para geração de energia”, explica o vice-governador João Leão, secretário de Desenvolvimento Econômico.

“A ampliação do campo de gás e da futura implantação da usina termelétrica, de forma macro, garante maior segurança ao sistema energético com mais disponibilidade de energia. E de forma local, dá oportunidade a pequenos negócios de desenvolvimento, bem como circulação e distribuição de riqueza, transformando oportunidade em prosperidade, evidenciando o município e o Estado como área produtora de gás e geradora de energia em âmbito nacional”, destaca o diretor Operacional da Imetame, Giuliano Favalessa.
